The functionality of this solution is ideal for the commissioning of your solar thermal or PV plant and is also useful in case your plant loses its connection to the internet and is unable to access realtime data on the Green Energy Portal.
The Local HMI is in advanced beta testing on a number of US solar thermal and PV facilities and will be launched formally in 2012.
SCADA for large solar farms and Network Design service
We at natcon7 have been waiting in the wings for the solar industry to realize the importance of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) on utility-scale solar PV plants. Having witnessed the same trend in the wind industry and having been an active participant in SCADA on large wind farms with more than 4GW of renewable energy using our SCADA solutions, we have been preparing for this for a long time.
We are very pleased to announce our collaboration with Next Generation Energy of Denver, CO in launching our Network Design service for large-scale solar PV plants. Considering the reliability required in utility-scale power plants, it is of the utmost importance to ensure that the onsite communication hardware is designed properly. We typically use a fiber optic backbone due to its immunity against electromagnetic interference, general robustness, speed and redundancy. Our expertise in this field will be utilized to its full potential in this newly launched Network Design service.
